Aktun Chen
Located 107 km from Cancun, along the Mayan Riviera, just 16 km before the
Mayan Ruins of Tulum and 4 km past Akumal, you find "Aktun Chen", which in
mayan means "cave with an underground river inside". The park has an area of 400
Has (988 acres) of unexplored Rainforest in which the only thing that has been
exploited is the gum of a local tree called "chicozapote".
You are able to see some of the local wildlife such as the white tail deer, the spider
monkey, the badger, the wild boar, the wild turkey, the iguanas and some local wild
birds.

Kantun Chi is home to many plants and animals. There are white tail deer, spider monkeys, raccoons,as well as
a variety of other birds and insects. Throughout the ecopark, you will also find many different plants, including
some very rare mushrooms.
Kantun Chi is an easy drive down Federal Highway 307, just 90 km (56 miles) south of Cancun, 22 km (14
miles) from Playa del Carmen, and around 2 km (1 mile) south of Puerto Aventuras.
The main entrance is 200 meters south of the Barcelo Maya Hotel.
The main entrance to the park is adorned with a small pyramid and our name, “Kantun Chi.”
From Cancun, you can catch one in front of the bus station.
From Playa del Carmen you can board a Mayab bus at the station on Quinta Avenida and Avenida Juarez.
The Playa Express stops at Calle 8 and Avenida 15.
There are also vans from Playa del Carmen to Tulum that can drop you at Kantun Chi. You can catch one on
Calle 2 between Avenidas 15 and 20, on the other side of the Post Office

ATV Explorer Jungle Tours
is the original Playa del Carmen jungle tour. Ride an ATV through jungle paths, swim
in a clear 60 foot deep cenote, explore caves, climb ancient Mayan ruins on this 2
hour tour. Right next to Playa del Carmen and Playacar, Mexico, just an hour south
of Cancun
To get to the tour, drive or take a taxi south on Highway 307, the main road
between Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum.
Drive past Playa del Carmen and Playacar.
The ATV Explorer Jungle Tours entrance is well marked by a large sign on the left
side of the road.
If you get to Xcaret park, you've gone too far.
All the Playa del Carmen taxi drivers know where to find the tour entrance.
